Our Lives Reflect the Light of Christ

As we look across the pink clouds in the sky on a morning sunrise, we are reminded of the beauty of our Lord’s creative power! As the sun comes up over the horizon, we see the brilliance of the reflection of the sun in clouds above! There is no artist that can compete with the natural beauty of God’s creation! It is refreshing, invigorating, and it reminds us of His majesty in our lives! In the Word of God, 2 Samuel 23:4 says, “And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth be clear shining after the rain.”

Jesus said in His Word, “When you have seen me you have seen the Father!” He is a reflection of the Father! John 1:1-9 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through Him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” The light which reflects from Jesus abides in us, because it is no longer we who live, but Christ lives in us (Galatians 2:20).

As children of God, we were created in His image and are blessed to have His light shine within our hearts, as a reflection of Christ to others! As 2 Corinthians 4:6 states, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ!” Through our relationship with the Word, the light of Jesus Christ shines bright, as it gives us a greater understanding of the power of His perfect life changing reflection in us, as revealed in Psalm 119:130, “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding to the simple.”

There are many times that we feel darkness all around us. This can produce a feeling of loneliness, causing possible isolation. Micah 7:8 says, “When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.” That light dispels the darkness! No matter how big a room is, if you light one match, the flame of that match has dispels all darkness! Knowing that Christ is the light of all men, then the very mention of His name can produce peace and a sense of companionship! That is a peace that passes all our natural understanding.

Walking in the light not only give us fellowship with our Lord, but it also gives us fellowship with one another. The Bible also says in 1 John 1:5-7, “This is the message which we have heard from Him and declared to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another…”

Through this light we are given a clear vision of our path and destiny, for His Word is a lamp unto our feet, and a Light unto our path (Psalm119:130). Proverbs 4:8 says, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more unto the perfect day.” The Lord wants to perfect each and every day of our lives with His perfect reflection of His light!

Spend time each morning to absorb the rays of the “SON” by meditating in His Word, thus, creating a foundation for a perfect day! Remember you are the light of this world!
